Meet the Lady Wolves Coaching Staff

Varsity Head Coach- Sara Goldie
Coach Sara Goldie is entering her 11th year of coaching high school women’s basketball. Coach Goldie grew up in the Sammamish area and is a graduate if Eastlake High School class of ‘97.  Her high school team placed 5th and 8th in the state tournament her junior and senior year. Coach Goldie also lettered in Volleyball at Eastlake.  Sara attended the University of Washington and received a degree in Economics. After working in the business world for a year, Coach Goldie quickly discovered that her place was teaching kids and coaching basketball.  Coach Goldie had many amazing coaches over the years and in so happy to be giving back and teaching life lessons through sports.  Coach Goldie believes that most all of her success has come from the lessons she learned while she was a student athlete.  She believes that the gym is the best place to learn those life lessons.  Coach Goldie is extremely passionate about the game of basketball, as she has been around the game since she was a little girl. Growing up in a basketball family where both of her parents played basketball on the National Team back home she cannot remember a time where she was not involved in basketball and still loves every second of it!  More than basketball Sara loves to work with young women.  She feels lucky to be able to be a part of these young athletes’ lives and always hopes to be a part of her former players’ lives as well.  Coach Goldie’s coaching career began in 1997 when she coached the Evergreen Jr High girl’s basketball team.  From there she became the Varsity Assistant at Eastlake High School for 2 years before returning to school to become a PE teacher.  While attending Central Washington University she joined the coaching staff at East Valley-Yakima where she was part of two state appearances placing 4th and 5th respectively.  When she returned to the area Sara joined the Redmond High coaching staff under Coach Bangasser for one season.  Sara spent three seasons as Varsity Assistant under Coach Sartorius here at Eastlake, where she coached the first team back to state since she played for Eastlake herself.  Coach Goldie is so excited to be HOME after a great experience as a first year head coach last season at Redmond.  Words cannot describe her excitement for returning to Eastlake and she has high hopes for the future of this program.  Coach Goldie hopes to build on the efforts of the past players and coaches.  Sara is a teacher at Inglewood Junior High, teaching Health and PE. Sara has been married to her amazingly supportive husband Sean for 5 years and they have a 2 year old son named Payton.  He doesn’t miss a game, so keep a look out for the mini-fan in the stands…he will be decked out!  Coach Goldie is looking forward to a season full of success, hard work, dedication and team bonding.  Some of Coach Goldie’s hobbies include: traveling, spending time with family and her favorite… shopping! Go WOLVES!
Varsity Assistant Coach- Megan Reinhart
Coach “Megz” is entering her 3rd year of coaching high school girls basketball.  In the fall of 2009 she joined Coach Goldie’s staff at Redmond High School and never looked back.  Coach Megz was the JV Coach at Redmond for the 2009-2010 season and then followed Goldie to the Plateau to be an Assistant in the Eastlake program for the 2010-2011 season.  She is so thankful to be a part of such a welcoming and tight knit community.  Coming off a fantastic year she is thrilled to continue coaching alongside Goldie and the Wolves for another season. She grew up in a basketball family in Seattle and though her first day of tryouts in 2nd grade were terrifying, she quickly fell in love with the game and eventually became a standout player at Blanchet High School.  Coach Megz was a member of teams that placed 2nd in the 3A state tournament in both her freshman and sophomore years.  While in high school she played basketball for the Seattle magic, as well as became a charter member of the Puget Sound Flight program, where she played for two years.  Coach Megz also lettered in Volleyball, and was on a team that won the Metro title her junior year, and a team that placed 5th in the state her senior year.  After high school she attended Western Washington University and played lacrosse while earning a B.S. in Sociology and a minor in Economics.  During her sophomore and senior seasons she was voted to the league all-star team for defense…(FACT: DEFENSE WINS GAMES!!!!). After dedicating most of her life to playing basketball she has switched gears and has found a passion in coaching.  Coach Megz is lucky to have grown up with some fantastic role models, specifically her family, who showed her how to love the game. She believes that basketball is more than just a sport, it is an opportunity to learn about life and all it has to offer.  Having learned some valuable and tough life lessons through her many years of playing  and coaching both basketball and lacrosse, she hopes to provide similar lessons for her players.

Some of Coach Megz’ hobbies include: running, triathlons, photography, traveling, baking, and playing lacrosse.  “I’m in…GO WOLVES!!!”

Assistant Coach- Marc Adams
Coach Adams is entering his 12th year of coaching basketball.  He first coached in Gaithersburg, MD for his then 11 year old daughter, when he assisted a neighbor with a Boys and Girls Club team.  Upon relocation to Seattle, Marc followed his daughter into the Eastlake Select program where he was an Assistant before taking a 5th grade team as the Head Coach in 2001.  During the next 10 years, Marc Head coached Eastlake Select 7th through 9th grade teams.  During several of these years, Marc also coached the Eastlake high school teams during the fall and June.   One of his best memories is of assisting Sara Goldie in Portland last June when our current Varsity team made the final in a 72 team draw tournament. In an effort to improve his knowledge of the game, Marc joined the Puget Sound Flight AAU program in 2006 and served as an Assistant & Head coach for 3 years as well as one year with Brent Hermanson and the Category 5 program that included Hannah Ostic, Ellie Martinez, and Alyssa Charlston, all Eastlake alum’s.  The AAU experience was invaluable to Marc’s game management skills and exposed him to the summer college basketball recruiting circuit and all that it entails.  He is now an avid reader of newspaper box scores as many of the girls he worked with are playing ball at the college level. Marc grew up on courts, fields, and courses and continues to enjoy tennis, golf, and running.  He ran cross country and track, and played basketball throughout high school and was part of a state championship cross country team as a junior.  It is a fond memory that has stayed with him to this day.  He has thoroughly enjoyed watching 100’s of young women expand not only their game, but their confidence, maturity, decision making, and competitive spirit.  Overcoming a fear, learning new things, getting out of your comfort zone are all things high on the list of life skills Marc hopes to impart. Marc and Leslie have been married for 32 years and have lived on both coasts and several cities in the Midwest over the years.  They are proud of their two grown daughters, Maggie and Rachel.
