Coach Sara Goldie is entering her 18th year of coaching high school women’s basketball. Coach Goldie grew up in the Sammamish area and is a graduate of Eastlake High School class of ‘97. Her high school team placed 5th and 8th in the state tournament her junior and senior year. She also lettered in Volleyball at Eastlake. Sara attended the University of Washington and received a degree in Economics. After working in the business world for a year, she quickly discovered that her place was teaching kids and coaching basketball. Coach Goldie had many amazing coaches over the years and is so happy to be giving back and teaching life lessons through sports. Coach Goldie believes that most of her success has come from the lessons she learned while she was a student athlete. She believes that the gym is the best place to learn those lessons. She is extremely passionate about basketball, as she has been around the game since she was a little girl. She was raised in a basketball family where both of her parents played on the National Team in Iran, and she cannot remember a time when she was not involved in the game. More than basketball, Sara loves to work with young women. She feels lucky to be able to be a part of these young athletes’ lives and always hopes to be a part of her former players’ lives as well. Coach Goldie’s coaching career began in 1997 and will hopefully continue for many years. She has been married to her amazingly supportive husband, Sean, for 13 years and they have a 10-year-old son named Payton who plays in the Eastlake boys select program, a 7-year-old son named Kayson and 2½-year-old girl, Layla. They don’t miss a game, so keep a look out for the ball boy, water boy and wolf pup in the stands…they will be decked out! Coach Goldie is looking forward to a season full of success, hard work, dedication and team bonding. Some of Coach Goldie’s hobbies include: tennis, volleyball, traveling, and spending time with family!
